Potato balls, fried chicken, and oyster omelettes — the ultimate comfort combo.
Taiwan’s one of the few countries where I look forward to night market food without fear — never once got food poisoning, and that alone is reason to feast.
🔥 My Forever Favourites:
✔️ Oyster omelette — very different from the Singapore version! It’s mochi-like and chewy, and I’m obsessed.
✔️ Fried chicken cutlet — a classic. They don’t slice it like overseas outlets, so if it’s fresh and hot in a paper wrap? Good luck to my hands.

✔️ Deep fried potato balls — my fav snack ever. We used to have them in SG, but they vanished. Every time I travel, I hunt for these first.
📌 Tip: Most stalls are cash-only. I used my Revolut card to withdraw TWD (no fees), and kept a small coin pouch handy just for night markets.
🌟 Final Thoughts
If you want an intro to Taiwan’s flavours — go straight to the night markets. Safe, delicious, and comforting.
