Monthly Breakdown for Introverts, Early-Stage Nomads, and Nature Walkers
This one’s a little hazy — it was early in my full-time travel days and I was in full hermit mode. I didn’t do much, didn’t see much, but I was there. Some trips are like that — slower, quieter, and more about the pause than the playlist.
💰 Expenses Breakdown
🛏️ Accommodation: SGD2,000
→ I stayed somewhere near a metro station — can’t recall the exact area, but it was well-connected and that made everything easier.
🍽️ Food: ~SGD50/day
→ Didn’t eat out much, but what I do remember? Oysters. Fresh and perfect. Still think about them.
🚇 Transport: SGD200
→ Auckland’s metro was surprisingly efficient. As long as you stay near a line, you’re golden.
💄 Grooming: SGD200
→ Essentials and snacks. Not much else.
Total: ~SGD3,950 (excluding activities)
📌 One of those quiet reset months. Necessary, but not memorable in the usual sense.
🏡 Where to Stay in Auckland
✔️ Near a metro station — That’s all you need. The train lines are solid and easy to navigate.
🏠 Airbnb, Hotel, or Something Else?
✅ Airbnb makes sense for shorter stays.
✅ For anything longer, try scouting local listings — you might get better space for less.
📌 This was during my early travel months, and I went the shared apartment route to save. Never again. Let’s just say: if you value your own space, don’t lowball yourself. A little privacy goes a long way — especially when you’re still figuring things out.
🍽️ Food and Dining in Auckland (SGD50/day)
🦪 Oysters — So fresh, so good. I didn’t eat out much, but these made an impression.
📌 New Zealand’s food scene is quiet but quality. You can feel the care in what they serve.
🚕 Transport Costs (SGD200 for the Month)
✔️ Metro is well-connected and easy to use.
✔️ I didn’t need a car or fancy options — trains and walking did the job.
📌 Don’t overthink it — Auckland’s public transport is beginner-friendly.
📶 Internet and Workspaces (SGD25)
✔️ I worked quietly and without issue.
📌 Internet was stable enough for calls and uploads — no complaints.
🎟️ Where I Spent My Time in Auckland
✔️ Nature Walks & Parks — I don’t remember all the names, but I do remember the calm. Trees, trails, and fresh air. That’s all I needed back then.
📌 No packed itinerary — just me, some space, and time to think.
🌟 Final Thoughts: Was SGD3,950 Worth It?
✔️ For what I needed at the time — yes.
✔️ It wasn’t an adventure month, but not every month needs to be.
✔️ Sometimes, you need to just exist in a new city — and that’s enough.
🙋♀️ Who This City is For
- Solo wanderers early in their journey
- People who like chill cities and quiet parks
- Those needing a breather without the pressure to do all the things
